True Metallic Metal – For Realistic Metal Effects on Miniatures

It is also currently the largest metallic collection on the market, and the colors have been specially developed to achieve realistic, controlled, and above all, reproducible results. Traditionally, one works with a metallic base color and then creates depth with washes or glazes, as many metallics have issues with opacity or pigments. The new True Metallic Metal range, however, promises strong base tones, highlights, and washes or shades with real metal pigments.

The Four Color Families of True Metallic Metal

What's special: Each color family is divided into four perfectly matched sub-series that represent the proven BSL system (Base-Shade-Light). This allows you to effortlessly recreate light and shadow and give models depth and vibrancy. These sub-groups are divided as follows:

• BASE (Metallic): the main color with excellent opacity and a fine, even sheen.
• SHADE (Satin, non-metallic): provides realistic shadows and works like a wash: a thin application of paint that settles into recesses and creates shadows. Explicitly non-metallic here, because shadows in reality do not glitter.
• LIGHT (Metallic Highlight): a lighter variant for highlights that maintains the color tone without drifting into a whitish hue.
• AIRBRUSH (Airbrush Base): the same tone, but with a perfectly adjusted consistency for quick priming or large-area effects with an airbrush.
