Key Features

  • Three young Dwarves who are destined for greatness
  • Heroes for the Erebor army list
  • Contains three resin miniatures

As Prince of Erebor, Thorin held a respected and honourable position within the Dwarf hosts who went to war in his grandfather’s name. Even as a youth, Thorin possessed an impressive skill at arms and a matching bravery. This served him well when Smaug brought terrible ruin to his home, and even more so in the great Battle of Moria many years later. In that battle, with all hope seemingly lost and the line of Durin on the verge of extinction, Thorin stood fast against all odds, earning the name 'Oakenshield'.

Thorin’s capable companion and comrade-in-arms, Dwalin is one of the most capable fighters and perhaps the strongest Dwarf in all of Erebor. When Thorin escaped Smaug’s wrath, Dwalin and his brother Balin were at his side, and would be so many years later in the Battle of Moria. In a close quarters fight, there is no Dwarf more wantonly violent than Dwalin, and when armed with his pair of axes, Grasper and Keeper, he can exact a bloody toll from his foe.

Wherever Dwalin travelled, his elder brother Balin was sure to be found. Wise even in his youth, Balin was the sort of Dwarf others would seek for scholarly advice, though he was not found wanting when it came to skill at arms. At the Battle of Azanulbizar, Balin joined Thorin in rallying the wavering Dwarf hosts, charging up the corpse-strewn slopes towards victory alongside his beloved kin.

Thorin, Dwalin and Balin are Heroes for the Erebor army list. Thorin carries a sword and the improvised shield of oak that he would later take his name from, whilst Dwalin wields his trusty pair of axes and Balin his sword-mace.

This set contains three resin miniatures – Thorin, Dwalin and Balin in their youth – and they come supplied with 3x Citadel 25mm Round Bases. Their rules can be found in Armies of The Hobbit™.
