Tyranids can take on a terrifying array of forms, each more horrific than the last. Small raiding forces have been observed led by a creature known as a Parasite of Mortrex. These forces are protected by heavily armoured Tyranid Warriors and supported by the walking artillery known as Biovores, which lob living Spore Mines across the battlefield. Perhaps the most dangerous element are the aggressive and stealthy Genestealers, who charge ahead and rend and tear with their razor-sharp claws.
If you want to devour all the biomass in the galaxy, this box is the perfect way to start a new Tyranids collection – or expand an existing army – and save money compared to buying the kits separately. The force is led by a nightmarish Parasite of Mortrex, which infects its prey with a barbed ovipositor. Three Tyranid Warriors can chew through the toughest foes, while Genestealers skitter ahead to mop up any survivors. Finally, a Biovore provides long-ranged support. These 18 plastic miniatures comprise a complete Tyranids Combat Patrol, ready for thrilling, tactical Combat Patrol games of Warhammer 40,000 – the rules for this Combat Patrol can be found as a free download on the Warhammer Community website.
This set includes the following 18 plastic Tyranids miniatures:
– 1x Parasite of Mortrex
– 3x Tyranid Warriors (which can alternately be built as Tyranid Shrikes)
– 1x Biovore (which can alternately be built as a Pyrovore)
– 3x Spore Mines
– 10x Genestealers
The miniatures in this box are supplied with a variety of customisation options. The Genestealers include different head options, and the Biovore can alternately be built as a flame-spewing Pyrovore.
The Tyranid Warrior can be built with rending claws, scything talons, or a bonesword and lash whip. The heads, bodies, tails, legs, arms, and weaponry are interchangeable between miniatures, so you can channel your inner Hive Mind when assembling them. They can alternately be built as Tyranid Shrikes, armed with a harpoon launcher or shockcannon.
This kit comprises 260 plastic components, and is supplied with 1x Citadel 80mm Round Base, 1x Citadel 40mm Round Base, 1x Citadel 25mm Round Base, 3x Citadel 50mm Round Bases, and 10x Citadel 32mm Round Bases.
These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
