In times of great need, the common peasants, field workers, and citizens of Grand Cathay take up arms to defend their homeland. While they may not be as well-equipped or trained as Jade Warriors, they are still a resolute and powerful force. They wield black powder firearms and long spears to zealously stand against the most terrifying enemies a mortal can behold.
This packed box is ideal for starting a new collection of the Grand Cathay armies or reinforcing an existing army for use in Warhammer: The Old World. The reinforcements are led by a pair of Astromancers, one on foot and the other mounted, providing strong magical support. The bulk of the force consists of peasant militia, who can overwhelm tough enemies with their sheer numbers. Crane Gunner Teams and Iron Hail Gunners offer serious firepower and can eliminate any foe from a distance. This box is the first opportunity to acquire all these new miniatures.
From this box, you can build 53 multi-part plastic miniatures of Grand Cathay:
– 1x Astromancer on Foot
– 1x Astromancer on Cathayan Warhorse
– 1x Homunculus
– 8x Crane Gunner Teams
– 12x Iron Hail Gunners
– 30x Peasant Militia
The miniatures in this box can be customised to a certain extent. Both Astromancers have a choice of two heads and two right-hand weapons.
The Peasant Militia can be armed with either a war bow or a long spear. Parts are included for up to three optional champions, each with a choice of two heads, as well as for up to three optional musicians and three optional standard bearers. There are 72 heads in the set, some bare-headed and some wearing hats. The heads, hats, quivers, and weapons can be interchanged among all bodies.
This kit consists of 696 plastic components and includes 1 Citadel Rectangular Base (30mm x 60mm), 8 Citadel Rectangular Bases (50mm x 25mm), and 44 Citadel Square Bases (25mm). These miniatures need to be assembled and are unpainted – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
